The child in me gets very excited on Friday the 13th. I personally am fascinated by the supernatural affiliation with a number. Other than the movie Friday the 13th, I could not remember exact superstitions or origins for Friday the 13th. I did a little research, and according to the History Channel, Friday the 13th being “bad luck” day started as early as 1780BC. Basic reason for the spookiness around the number 13 is good things come in twelves, i.e. months in a year, a dozen, etc. Apparently, a group of 13 things is also called a “Devil’s dozen”. If I ever own bakery, cupcakes will be in sold in thirteen groups as Devil’s dozen.
